Death by Vanity – Donda West

donda kanye westDonda West, Kanye West’s mom, died dued to complication of undergoing cosmetic surgery. Donda had two cosmetic surgeries (tummy tuck and breast reduction) performed at the same time, and died at her home two days later. Kanye West’s mother was 58 years old when she died.

The surgery that caused Donda West’s death was performed by Dr. Jan Adams, who was later revealed to not be a board certified plastic surgeon.

Remember, simply because a procedure is “cosmetic”, doesn’t make it safe. Most cosmetic surgeries are considered major surgery. Would you get heart surgery if it wasn’t necessary? Would you want someone that you love to risk death to make their breasts somewhat perkier for a few more years? Or, do you love them as they are? Nowadays, plastic surgeons try to upsell additional procedures to clients to make an extra few bucks. Going in for a breast augmentation? Well, how about we suck a little fat out of your waist too. What they fail to tell you is that multiple cosmetic procedures, performed at the same time, significantly increases your chance of complications and death. There is a 1 in 3200 chance that patients that undergo multiple cometic procedures will die. Is it really worth it?

Stupid, ignorant, selfish broad. Nothing could have helped her. Just glad the fraud Dr. was exposed.

Intersting perspective, Shiite: “Stupid, ignorant, selfish broad.”

My aren’t we judgmental. It’s sad that someone dies from a surgical procedure that, when done properly, on an appropriate candidate, is normally safe. Do you get off on berating the dead- or only wen it’s someone else’s mother? I bet you are a real gem yourself, with a personality for which no cosmetic enhancement could ever compensate.

Cosmetic surgery, even when it goes wrong, does not automatically make one “stupid, ignorant, or selfish.” Most people that get it, have healthy boundries and expectations, and it works just fine for them. And reality is, looks do matter- no matter how smart you are, or how great a personality you have, if you look great too, it’s icing on the cake. People that look good, or even great, often are perceived, and treated better than their average and not so average peers. Read the research. Or talk to anyone that was once an ugly-duckling, for that matter, including those that became swans without surgery.

How many people take risks with their health in the pursuit of frivolous goals? Look at the oh-so-many pro athletes, such as boxers, or football players, that risk their health all the time- check out the physical problems those people often cause themselves, which can include being crippled or killed. (Race care drivers are another example of frivolous risk takers.) And of what value are such activities to society, really? So many sports “heros” seem to do little in their free time but drink, drug, and womanize. Yet I don’t hear anyone berating these men for their “stupid, ignorant, selfish” choices. Instead we throw money at them, and pressure our sons to be just like them. Now that’s stupid, ignorant, and selfish.

Whether it’s cosmetic or not. You could have an adverse reaction to the anesthesia, or if you have not been properly screened in advance by your plastic surgeon, you could have a medical condition you aren’t aware of that could affect your outcome. Do your homework, make sure that your plastic surgeon is board-certified, get references. I have had good experiences with plastic surgery, but I know plenty of people that have had bad experiences, even at the hands of board-certified plastic surgeons.

Total agree with Surgery is Surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
additionally I thought Donda West looked good
4 a woman her age. her story reminds me of the
late James Brown wife, Adreine Brown who also died from plastic surgery.!!! It’s sad(sad face) when we don’t love ourself and would take bad riskes just 2 look or feel younger. I heard Donda son Kanye West had plastic surgery when he was in a bad car accident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
to fix his face etc thats understandable. But
Donda surgery was b/c of her being vain.(SAD STORY) Rest in Peace Donda!!! It didn’t have 2 end like this U brought this on ur self. But something good did come out of this tradegy. The fraud Quack !!! Quack !!!!! Doctor Jan Admans was exposed 4 the fraud that he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Why don’t some women and men accept the way that they look!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • avatar another mother says:

Getting a tummy tuck and breast reduction doesn’t sound overly vain to me. After having children, your stomach sags and it hurts. Your breasts also grow sag, causing back pain. Take a good look at her face. If she was really so vain she would have been getting a face lift, nose job, and the works.

  • avatar ReginaPhalange says:

I seem to recall reports of her having gone to another surgeon who wouldn’t do the surgery without screening her first, which she didn’t want to do, so she found a surgeon who’d do it without checking her out first. If that was true then, yes, it *was* vanity. Certainly Kanye could afford pre-op screening for his own mother.

I just can’t understand, all this people who earn a lot, so paying a surgery is not an issue for them, who live in enviroment where obviously physical look is very important, could they research an information and feedbacks on a surgeon in whoose hands they decide to put their face / body / life? There is ISAPS (International Association of Plastic Surgery) as well as AAPS (American Association of Plastic Surgery, they both have very sever rules who they admit. They provide info on operations and surgeons. There are many forums where people talk about good and bad surgeries they had, they give a feedback on surgeons, they post their photos. There are so many ways to do a homework before. Priscilla Presley, and many others went to a scam who was unlicenced, he injected law grade silicon used to lubricate auto parts into their faces! How could somebody be so stupid and unconscious ? This is what cause their death, or ruined face, stupidity and unconsciuos.

  • avatar dale smith says:

My question is why didn’t West get the best plastic surgeon for his mother? It’s not as if he had to use an HMO — nothing wrong with HMO care, either by the way, but West has MONEY! Then again, an expensive quack is still a quack.

  • avatar Wet Lips says:

We all do things that may cause our death prematurely. So whatever reason these people chose to do what they did is their business. They suffered the consequenses as we all do from our mistakes. They chose to do it! At the risk of dying. Let’s respect that. They do not deserve to be called stupid or any thing else for that matter, they paid the ultimate price, that should be enough!

  • avatar judi says:

We all make choices good or bad. What better than a man or women living his own life. So if a person wants to have surgery (there choice) not ours. Must be all of you do what you want in your life, sounds like you all need to get one and leave the dead or undead to do as they please. Must be hard to be perfect and know so much:) none of you have walked a day in there shoes to know the reason for there actions. and really you should all get busy living your own life and not worry about others. Must be your so right and have it so together that you can all point fingers (shame on you !!!)
