timea kertesz miss plastic 2010Miss Plastic Hungary is a Hungarian beauty pageant that requires that it’s contestants have undergone some sort of major cosmetic surgery. A cosmetic procedure, such a Botox, would not qualify you for entry into the contest, but a surgical procedure, such as breast implants and/or a nose job, would.

According to their website, the Miss Plastic Hungary contest is described as follows:

Among the ever overbidding and confusingly diversified beauty contests now a unique novelty is born. The first competition that is not afraid to go with the flow. Here, women who had plastic surgery show the world that beauty operations are not the work of the devil, that they can be natural and tasteful, and that perfect beauty can be even more perfect.

While I can appreciate the novelty behind a plastic surgery beauty pageant, um, arn’t all pageants chalk full of women that have had plastic surgery?! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a beauty pageant where the majority of the women have NOT had plastic surgery. Shoot, even the state of California bought breast implants for their beauty pageant representative, Carrie Prejean!

The Miss Plastic Hungary pageant claims to be promoting “natural and tasteful” plastic surgery, but after watching clips from the 2009 pageant, I think they may have missed the mark as a lot of the contestants look like they just walked out of the strip club.
