On Sunday Renee Zellweger made her way down the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards ceremony, in a stunning gold metallic floor length gown. And while we thought she looked stunning, she certainly didn’t look like her usual self. The talented 43-year old actress has become know for her cute and quirky looks, which is highlighted by her squinty smile and puckered up lips, yet Renee looked like a completely different person at The Oscars! Is it just us, or has Renee somehow been transformed into Christina Applegate’s long lost twin?!

Renee Zellweger and Christina Applegate: Separated at birth?

We are not the only ones to notice how different Renee Zellweger looks recently and she has been the subject of many articles (and tweets) this week claiming that she has over-done the Botox. After comparing recent photos of Renee to photos through out the years, it seems pretty obvious that there has been a transformation of her face, and it certainly is not natural. Renee has been using Botox for years, but Botox is not behind her suddenly wider-than usual eyes and slimmed down jawline. It appears that Renee has had a blepharoplasty (eye lift) to smooth out bags and wrinkles and to open up her smaller than average eyes. It is also possible that the transformation of her face shape is due to facial contouring, which involves liposuction under the cheekbones and around the jawline to better define the cheeks and give the face a more heart-shaped look.

In our opinion, Renee looks pretty after having plastic surgery, but she doesn’t look much like herself anymore, which is a bit strange. What do you think of Renee’s new look? Mid-life crisis or just your typical celebrity tune-up?
